Thursday March 7.th an event is held, bringing together SME, academics and innovation facilitators from the South Baltic region. Presentations of state of the art knowledge is combined with match making and knowledge exchange in the Food Innovation Council. The event focus on plant proteins, with lupins as a case.

  • Lupins are not only nicely flowering plants. In Europe some species of “sweet lupins” are currently grown as food plants used as very high quality protein and fibre source.
  • The cultivation of lupins, processing lupins into food ingredients and food production will be presented by local and invited speakers, and future innovation potentials will be explored.

Friday March 8.th there is a tour to the Rostock University Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the SBFOODINNO Steering Committee meeting is held.

13.00 – 15.00 Talks on lupin cultivation, processing and products. Detailed schedule to be announced.

15.00 – 16.00 Coffee and match making

16.00 – 18.00 The Food Innovation Council (FIC) meeting with theme: Plants ˑ Protein ˑ Product. SME perspective on plant protein innovations followed by discussion. Latest update on the development of the Food Innovation tool box.

18.00 Dinner and evening social activity

09.00 – 11.00 Visit tour to the Rostock University Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

11.30 – 14.00 The SBFOODINNO Steering Committee (SC) Meeting 1901, starting with lunch. By invitations only to Steering Committee members, separate information is being sent out.
